How does a LoRaWAN network work?
The end device sends data over LoRa, the gateway relays it and the network server routes it.
What is LoRaWAN? A low-power, long-range wireless network standard that runs in the licence-free 868 MHz band. LoRa vs LoRaWAN: LoRa is the radio layer; LoRaWAN is the network protocol that defines identity, encryption and routing. The gateway's job: forward packets to the centre without decrypting them. Authentication and routing happen on the server. - Ready-made infrastructure: go live without setting up a server.
- Device and gateway management from the web console.
- Data transfer over MQTT and webhooks.

Hardware built for the field
Listens on eight channels at once: communication without packet loss even in dense deployments.
Long range, high sensitivity: the connection holds even without line of sight.
Built for field conditions: sealed enclosure, wide temperature range and redundant communication.
Balancing range and data rate
As the spreading factor increases, range goes up and data rate goes down.
